IGF 2012 Main Competition Entrant
Pugs Luv Beats
Company: Lucky Frame (Edinburgh, Scotland - United Kingdom)
Description: Once the masters of a wondrous and highly advanced civilization, the Pugs are the victims of their own greed...they loved nothing more than to collect Beats, which they cultivated with boundless love. But an ill-advised scheme to grow the biggest Beat of all time spun wildly out of control, and their home planet was destroyed! Now you must help the Pugs to grow more Beats so they can rediscover new planets, build houses, and recover their lost technologies.
Pugs Luv Beats is a music composition game - all of the game audio is generated by the actions of the player. The object of the game is to help your pugs discover the beats they love so much, allowing them to expand to new planets and rebuild their galaxy. In doing so, you generate original music.
By sending the pugs around the planets, dressing them in new skins and hats, and harvesting beats, deeply complex rhythmic and melodic music can be produced. An endless array of planets is available to explore, each one with unique musical characteristics, and developed worlds can be shared with the world.
The pugs need your help, their galaxy depends on you!
