IGF 2010 Main Competition Entrant

Wait

Company: Critical Gameplay (Oxford, Ohio - United States)

Game Website: http://www.criticalgameplay.com/

Description:
Wait, a simple game where the player is encouraged to refrain from acting on the world. As the player moves the world disappears, but when the player waits, the world becomes more interesting. The majesty is found in the slow, controlled effort. Players are awarded points when the little things in life reveal themselves.

Wait, is a game designed to be critical of gameplay standards. The game begins with a fade from white and in a field of blowing grass. If the player does not move, the world fades into view. If the items are close to the player the player is rewarded points. Points are expressed by a single tone. As time progresses the world begins to fade away. The player must respond by moving. If they do not move time world begins to fade away, ending the game.

Score is shown at the end of each game.
