Aaru's Awakening is a 2d action platformer taking place in the world of Lumenox. The world of Lumenox is controlled by the four deities "Dawn", "Day", "Dusk" and "Night" that rule the world together in peace. The world is held together with transitions: Night covers the world with darkness and then Dawn returns light back into the world. Day then releases his grip to pass control to Dusk.
The game begins with Dawn sending Aaru on a quest to Nights domain to stop his plan of ruining the balance. To get to Night's domain, Aaru must travel through the Day and Dusk domains before reaching Night. By going out of his own environment and to other domains Aaru is taking a great risk of disturbing the balance of Lumenox. In each domain Aaru is faced with challenges which the player must complete.
The character Aaru can do basic movement such as run and jump but he also has two special abilities. For one he has a powerful "charge" which enables him to charge in any direction no matter what. I.e. if Aaru is falling he can "charge" to stop the fall and by that save himself. He can also break specific walls by charging into them. The second ability is teleporting. Aaru can shoot an orb anywhere he wants and afterwards the player can teleport Aaru to the orbs location.
With these two abilities the player needs to control Aaru and complete the levels within the domains.

"Adventurezator is an adventure game. Well, sort of. You see, we all love adventure games (as all sentient beings in their right minds should) but you must admit that even the best of them lack something very special: good old YOU."

"In Adventurezator, you not only play an ever-renewed pile of brilliantly designed point-and-click adventures: you actually get to design your own, and publish them too! The best part? You can do that without all that boring programming, or math. It's all very technical, but (if we had to put it in layman's terms) it works like a very fancy cable connected directly to your brilliance."

Become Death, the grim reaper, and dive through a mythological multiverse to reclaim Death's stolen scythe. Precision control over jump angles gives you the power to make your own path through each afterlife. Rely on reflexes and rapid angle changes or approach levels as a puzzle of angles to be solved with foresight - choose your own path as you hunt for the scythe and recapture escaped souls.

Whether it's curiosity and exploration, risk-taking, or the speed of a psychedelic rollercoaster, each world is designed to emphasize a different gameplay theme. I recreated the experience I had gaming with college roommates, passing the controller around on different levels that matched each person's individual style. Afterdeath's 26-track soundtrack was composed to bring the personality of each world to life and to synchronize the player with the rhythm of each level. I hope you like it!

"Dark Descent took you on a steady journey into an ocean of madness. A Machine for Pigs will hold your head underwater until you're about to drown and then bring you back up for air, again and again." PC Gamer

Wealthy industrialist Oswald Mandus awakes in his bed, wracked with fever and haunted by dreams of a dark and hellish engine. Tortured by visions of a disastrous expedition to Mexico, broken on the failing dreams of an industrial utopia, wracked with guilt and tropical disease, he wakes into a nightmare. The house is silent, the ground beneath him shaking at the will of some infernal machine: all he knows is that his children are in grave peril, and it is up to him to save them.

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs pushes gaming horror into a new direction, trading in jump-scares and gore for an intensely psychological descent into the darkest reaches of the human psyche. It has already established itself as an innovative and powerful title that extends The Chinese Room's reputation as masters of atmosphere and narrative. Polygon described it as "a terrifying journey into madness, industrialisation and the darkest secrets of the soul"; Rock, Paper, Shotgun called it "tense, and disturbing… a marvelous, revolting, disturbing sequel to Dark Descent." and Edge warned, "It will test your nerves to breaking point."

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs sees The Chinese Room mature from indie start-up to established UK studio. Uncompromising in their vision, unapologetically innovative in approach, the studio have once again produced a work of haunting beauty.

Unashamedly literary, immersed in the language, music and art of Victoriana and lush with both period detail and the stunningly realised architecture of The Machine and the protagonist's insanity, the world of Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is core to the player's experience. This is driven by world-class audio design and a hugely praised soundtrack by renowned game composer Jessica Curry, who fuses beauty and terror into a macabre mix of industrial noise and orchestral splendor. The audio design of the game has been praised by critics across the board as one of the stand-out works of game audio this year: technically outstanding, hugely imaginative and with a scope and breadth that puts other titles to shame.

Stripped-back mechanics focus all of the player's attention on immersion and emotion, offering the most complex, nuanced and intimate portrayal of fear and madness since Silent Hill 2.
