FATALE

Company: Tale of Tales (Gent, Oost-Vlaanderen - Belgium)

Game Website: http://Tale-of-Tales.com/Fatale

Description:
FATALE is an interactive vignette in realtime 3D inspired by the biblical story of Salome.
Salome was a Judean princess who demanded the decapitation of John the Baptist as a reward for dancing for her stepfather, King Herod. In the late 19th century, Oscar Wilde wrote a stage play in which Salome falls in love with the prophet and demands his head so she could kiss his lips. It is this version of the ancient tale that inspired FATALE.

Most of FATALE takes place after the incident. We find ourselves gliding on the wind on a moonlit terrace where we can freely explore the elements that lead to the fatal event. FATALE is an atmospheric experience that refers to a story without actually telling it. It allows free association and encourages novel interpretations. Lacking ticking clocks, puzzles or missions, FATALE offers the opportunity to have an experience. As such it should be considered more as an explorable painting than a conventional game.

FATALE was made in 4 months by a small team including Takayoshi Sato (Silent Hill) and Jarboe (Swans).
