IGF 2008 Main Competition Entrant
ChipWits II
Company: Interactive Illusions/Zilch Spacecasting Network (Comstock, WI United States) Game Website: http://www.chipwits.com
Description: Take a robot on skates, plug chips into its brain, and drop it into challenging worlds to rack up the highest scores! It’s ChipWits II — the game of bot-coding and puzzle-solving fun.
Players create ChipWits by plugging chips into their robot’s brain. Use the ZAP chip to fry an ELECTROCRAB. Plug in the PICKUP chip to gobble PIE and COFFEE for fuel. Use the SING chip to let your ChipWit sing its little heart out!
With ChipWits II anyone can teach robots to think for themselves.
Send your ChipWits off on Missions to solve challenging puzzles and survive entertaining obstacles. Each mission has a different goal: PICKUP the most CDs; ZAP the most BOUNCERS; avoid BOMBs and grab DISKs; memorize long twisty passages. Players compete to build the smartest ChipWit for each Mission.
ChipWits II updates the classic ChipWits with a host of graphic, sonic and geekish upgrades — breakpoints, comments, named subpanels, WOW! Players can even build their own Missions and share their creations, and bots, with the ChipWits community.
ChipWits II is for anyone who likes to think. Bring your Brain!
(ChipWits II available for Mac and Windows. Linux version early 2008.)
