In this game the player comes to Cachiche, Peru, to spend their nights looking for ghosts to photograph, and ends up with an exquisite-corpse style narrative as they show their photos to people in town who spin stories about what they see in them. They also discover that their camera is not just a passive recorder, but that its act of observation changes the environment.

This project is an impressionistic fictional game that began as a documentary on a small town in Peru. Two summers ago I stayed with a brujo (could be loosely translated as sorcerer, traditional healer...) in a suburb called Cachiche, which is famous for being founded by witches who were fleeing the Peruvian Inquisition. There are many people there who are descendants of witches and also a number of contemporary ghost stories. I told people I was doing a videogame documentary and did some interviews, taking audiovisual documentation.

What if videogames could allow us to live complex human relationships? That's what we're trying to do with a A Street Story: a game which gameplay is as simple as his story his complex.
The player is a young arab mobster from the Paris banlieue mixed in a dark plot involving gansters, cops and terrorists. Depending on the choices made by the player while interactively dialoguing with NPCs the outcome of the story will change.
Our objective is to achieve an authentic interactive dramaturgy: the player can choose every line of dialog from the main character and the story is totally character-driven, without incredible twists or big blockbusters action scenes.

Alea is a beautiful rythym game that is addictive and hypnotic. The goal of the game is for the player to maintain accuracy of the repeating sequence of notes, while taking in the action of the surrounding environment. Neither is crucial for a victory however; we are all winners in the grand miracle that is life.

Alea was inspired by hiking in Muir woods park in San Fransisco and the Canadian Pacific Northwest.
Made almost entirely out of 2D sprites, Paloma Dawkins (Palgal) uses camera movement to animate sequencial growth and change of plants in different environmental climates. Cale Bradbury (netgrind) does shader/programming magic on the sprites to give them a life beyond their initial stillness. Caila Thompson (Mozart Sister) brings the forest into sound with a tight rythym and beautiful notes.

Eh Canadian collaboration initially made for Fantastic Fest 2015 with an alternative controller made of moss. We are building other types of plant based controllers for future events.

The evil wizard, RNG, has stolen all of your hard-earned loot, and hidden it in countless treasure chests! To get it back, you must use your skill at opening treasure chests, to, well... open treasure chests. Open chests, get better loot, and equip it to increase your odds of getting better loot. Grind until you get the best loot!

All the fun of opening the chest, without having to run the dungeon!

Amazing Loot Grind is an experiment. The game attempts to strip the loot mechanic of the RPG genre to its bones, while still creating an engaging and enjoyable gameplay experience. Further, by subjecting players to a grind for loot through such a simple format, Amazing Loot Grind subtly forces players to reexamine what exactly they are doing as they pour hours into the slot machine mechanics that have come to represent the apex gameplay experience of our favorite games. Why play that fantasy MMO or that space shooter/RPG hybrid when you could get the same endgame experience with a few taps on your phone?
