2006 - Grand prize winner Darwinia gets both digital distribution via Valve's Steam system and U.S. retail distribution from new indie label Cinemaware Marquee.

2005 - Multi award-winner Alien Hominid receives publishing deals in the U.S. (via O3 Publishing) and Europe(via Zoo Digital), much critical acclaim, and even spawns a mobile version.

2004 - Innovative casual strategy game Oasis wins the web/downloadable grand prize, going on to launch on major online portals the following year.

2003 - Super X Studios' Wild Earth, a photographic game based around a worldwide safari, takes multiple prizes and subsequently becomes a motion simulator ride.

2000 - Tread Marks, created by the late Seumas McNally, which the IGF's grand prize is now named after, wins 3 major awards.

Synaesthete is a music-driven arcade-style shooter which seeks to engage the senses with a synergy of light, color, and sound. Synaesthete creates a harmony between player actions and in-game music, in a way that each influences the other. The rhythm and flow of the music is expressed in every detail of the game so that the visual and audio are not two experiences, but one.

Snapshot Adventures: Secret of Bird Island is a bird photography game in which the player travels the country, unraveling the mystery of their grandfather's disappearance and collecting photos of both real and fantastical birds. Special camera attachments are collected along the way, and can be used to influence the birds in order to capture the best possible photos.

Triachnid Inc

Tri-achnid is an experimental flash game that focuses on the bond between the player and the creature you control. In Tri-achnid you take control over an endangered species of three-legged spider known as a Tri-achnid. Having total control over the creature's body, the player must lift and drag each of the spiders limbs to, climb, spin web, attack and care for its egg sack.
